ATEX at Gas Stations

Facilities for supplying vehicles are considered ATEX, with a class 1 location, as they are places where there are or may be gases, vapors or mists in sufficient quantities to produce explosive or flammable atmospheres. The classification of dangerous locations will be carried out according to the UNE-EN 60079-10-1 standard.

Explosion risk

The complementary technical instruction MI-IP 04 “Installations for supply to vehicles” applies.

The electrical installation will be carried out in accordance with what is indicated in the different sections of this ITC and in accordance with the specific regulations in force.
It must be justified that we have adequate protocols to safely carry out the most critical tasks in this type of facilities, such as maintenance work near fuels, cleaning storage tanks, unloading tanker trucks…
